How to Overlook Insults

Proverbs 10:
12. Hatred stirs old quarrels,
but love overlooks insults.
LB

But if I was insulted, someone may say, why should I overlook that?
The response to that is this:
Do you want or need to keep a relationship going smoothly? This would especially be the case if the relationship is with your employer or someone whose good will it is important to keep.

The problem then becomes this:
I was hurt and upset when that person insulted me. When he/she did that, I remembered all the old quarrels we've had and I felt I could never overlook any of those things.

So what is the way forward in such a situation?
This is how you can overlook insults and respond in love instead of hatred:
Make sure you acknowledge to the Lord and to yourself how each incident made you feel.

This is important, because this is your ticket to freedom and love in this situation.
The alternative is that we live in hatred, thinking only about old quarrels and living in the past.
This is the surest way to destruction.

Make sure you acknowledge to the Lord and to yourself how each incident made you feel.

Prayer:
Father, today I want to change the way I respond to insults, so that I continue to live in love with You as my Guide through the future,
in Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.

There's a new thought here tomorrow.
See you then, God willing!

Psalm 107:
17 Some fools turned against God and suffered for the evil they did.
18 They refused to eat anything, so they almost died.
19 In their misery they cried out to the LORD, and he saved them from their troubles.
20 God gave the command and healed them, so they were saved from dying.
21 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his love and for the miracles he does for people.
22 Let them offer sacrifices to thank him. With joy they should tell what he has done.
